ST PRESENTS ...
Roxy Girls / Holy Water plus more TBA
Formed in Sunderland in 2016, we draw on a wide range of influences, from The Yummy Fur and The Fall through to Arthur Russell. With our debut EP coming out earlier this year we've been grateful to play with bands such as DUDS, as well as playing a live session on BBC 6. We've since been invited for another session with Marc Riley. With plans to record again next month as well as gig around Leeds more, we aren't planning on slowing down anytime soon.
Proof that less is more, Roxy Girls crumple the post-punk blueprint and repurpose it for the modern age. - Ben Myers (Melody Maker, Mojo, The Guardian, New Statesman)
Awkward, angular, angry and inventive - Tom Robinson (BBC 6)
Dark and Lo-fi Leeds based pop combining heartfelt lyrics with powerful songwriting and production that is wonderfully rough around the edges.
Perspex are an art rock band from York. Formed in the summer of 2017, Perspex have crafted a sound of their own, mixing krautrock, 60s pop and angular guitars. They have performed up and down the UK playing with bands such as: Drahla, Catholic Action, Mush, Bull & Avalanche Party.
